Venizelos tombs

The two tombs of the Venizelos family, one facing the other, are situated in a pretty park surrounded by gardens, paths, steps and stone-paved floors. Enjoy the shade of the pine trees and the panoramic view of Chania and the wider area combined with the endless blue sea.


Seitan Limania

Sea inlets between the steep cliffs in the Akrotiri peninsula creating small baches. One such bay is Seitan Limania.


Agia Triada Monastery

One of the most important monasteries on Crete, having a major impact on the island even nowadays. Its most characteristic feature is the facade of the church which has two Doric style columns, a reminder that it was built by two cretan monks, Ieremias and Lavrentios. There are also Renaissance architecture elements which are obvious.

The akrotiri peninsula in Chania is a land of lush vegetation, full of olive trees, wild herbs and plants etc. The Polytechnic of Crete is located in a really special spot of beautiful scenery and breathtaking view to the Cretan Sea. Different spots also offer exquisite views. Pay a visit to the Venizelos family tombs and the church of Profitis Elias, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Chania. There are cafes nearby where you can have a coffee and taste delicious desserts  as you watch the amazing sunset. There are also a lot of picturesque, unspoilt villages worth a visit. Kalagado is one of them, you will think you are travelling back in time.
